Our Pillars

  • Civic engagement is the empowering process of actively participating in community life and collective decision-making to address issues and enhance the quality of life within the Venezuelan community.  This empowerment encompasses a range of activities, from volunteering and community organizing to immigration reform and political advocacy, all aimed at strengthening relationships with other communities and fostering a sense of shared responsibility.

  • Educational opportunities are the transformative chances and available resources that the Illinois Venezuelan Alliance facilitates for the community to access quality academic institutions, diverse learning environments, specialized programs such as vocational training, and essential support services.

  • Humanitarian aid and charitable work involve the provision of assistance by the Illinois Venezuelan Alliance, such as food, shelter, clothing, and medical care, to the Venezuelan people in the state of Illinois and in Venezuela, to save lives, alleviate suffering, and promote human dignity.

  • Advocacy is the powerful act of actively supporting, speaking for, or arguing in favor of a cause, policy, or person. It involves adding the Venezuelan voices to a particular issue to help others, change a system, or achieve beneficial goals that can create positive change and make a significant difference.
